Music by Joseph Thalken, lyrics by Mark Campbell. Inspired by the 1866 creation of The Black Crook, which is generally credited with being the first American musical, when scantily clad ballerinas, songs and ground-breaking scenic effects were added to a rather bad melodrama. The premiere production opened at the Signature Theatre, Arlington, VA in 2011, directed by Kristin Hanggi, musical directed by Boko Suzuki, choreographed by Josh Walden. The cast featured Eric Altemus, Kevin Carolan, Alma Cuervo, Nick Dalton, Jennifer Smith, Rebecca Watson.
